Tap to Pay is a contactless payment method that uses NFC (near-field communication) technology. Customers can complete a payment by tapping their contactless card, smartphone, or wearable device on your iPhone. JIM is a mobile app that enables Tap to Pay on iPhone, turning your device into a payment terminal without the need for an additional card reader.
JIM accepts all major cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and digital wallets such as Apple Pay or Google Pay. If the card has the contactless symbol or uses NFC technology, JIM accepts it.
JIM currently works only on iPhones.
With JIM, you get paid in seconds, with your money available on your JIM Visa® Prepaid Card immediately after each sale, without transfers or the 1–2 business day wait of traditional payment terminals.
Yes. JIM uses the same secure NFC technology trusted by card issuers worldwide. Card numbers and PINs are never stored on your device or servers. Every contactless payment is encrypted and meets EMVCo security standards.
JIM charges a flat 1.99% per sale. No hidden fees, no monthly charges, no minimums. The same rate applies whether customers use physical cards, such as credit or debit cards, or any other contactless payment method, such as Google Wallet.
The minimum sale amount with JIM is $1.
Tap to Pay works on any NFC-enabled iPhone running iOS 16 or later. In practice, this includes most recent iPhone models, which all support contactless payments.
Unlike traditional card readers that require swiping or inserting a card, Tap to Pay uses contactless technology. Customers simply tap their payment card or device on your iPhone. This results in smoother checkout and a more modern payment experience.
